All you have to do is provide a model and specifications of the car you want and we will use all our contacts in Japan and provide you with regular progress updates. Alternitively, please use our Live Auction service to browse some of the cars available daily. Many other UK car sourcing agents have negative aspects to importing Japanese cars such as no inspection of cars prior to bidding, no immediate auction sheet translation and no bidding allowed on Saturday. We have access to over 85 Japanese car auction halls, with more than 150,000 cars available per week. For your peace of mind, our trained mechanics are present at the auction halls to inspect cars at your request. Although the general condition of used Japanese cars are greater than UK cars of the same age, please remember that some used cars can have general wear and tear issues. This depends greatly on the age of your chosen cars and can be rectified depending on the size of your budget.

Typical Car Sourcing Service process
After you feel comfortable with the advice and information we provide, we require the deposit of £500 (See details on Pricing and Examples section). Once we receive your deposit and you have decided which car to bid for, we will then inspect the car and make sure it is described accurately as stated in the auction sheet.

Day 1
We inform you that your previous nights bid has been successful by our auction success confirmation E-mail, which contains information about all the costs needed in Japan, shipping date and general upgrades available. At this stage, we would require a payment for your costs in Japan (includes cost of the car at auction, Full on board (FOB) charge, Freight) to avoid delay of freight booking.

Days 5-7
Once your payment has cleared, your vehicle arrives to our third party's office in Osaka to receive a thorough check up. At the same time, the de-registration process and booking for transport on the next available ship starts. We will then send you approximately 15 pictures of your car. At this stage our sourcing fee would be required.

Days 12-50
Your car is on the ship to the relevant UK port. (Depending on shipping schedule and space availability)

Day 53
A payment will be required for tax clearance for you car to be legally registered in the UK

Day 55
Vehicle is ready for collection at specified port docks for customers using Option 1 (See pricing and Examples page)

If you are using option 2 or 3...

53-65 Days
The necessary UK road legalities are carried out (such as MOT, SVA or ESVA test) then your car will be registered with the DVLA . Payment is required before collection of you car(s)

The majority of cars imported by Osaka Speed keep to the schedule above. However there are uncontrollable situations, for example weather conditions, which may cause a delay. The schedule can also depend on shipping space availability. Generally, we believe the schedule above is an accurate analysis of the time scale and processes involved for Osaka Speed to source your car.
