At Osaka Speed we pride ourselves on very competitive sourcing fees and a flexible approach to supplying you with quality Japanese cars. There is a fixed full On Board (FOB) 110,000JPY (£550) charge in Japan, which makes it much easier to calculate the total cost of your car. When you choose your car we will ask you to choose one of the options below.
Once you have decide to bid on a certain car, a full refundable deposit is needed to progress with your bid. This deposit is usually £500 which can be paid using your credit/debit card. The deposit varies slightly if the auction price is over £5000. Our current rate of deposit is 10% of the auction price over the £5000 threshold ). If you bid is successful, the outstanding balance will be requested in five working days from winning the auction. |

Option 1:
Your vehicle to UK port in your name (Sourcing fee £500 + VAT)
This option includes our basic car sourcing service. We recommend this option for traders and customers who require involvement in legal processes in the UK. We will provide you access and information to the car(s) of your choice, we will explain the auction sheet(s). If you are happy to bid, we will send an inspector to check the car for your piece of mind. Once you have won a car, then we will arrange shipment to the UK. (Southampton or Liverpool) On arrival of your car (s), we will advise you the best way of paying the import tax & VAT clearance, Port tax, MOT, MOT preparation, SVA or ESVA (if vehicle is less than 10 years old), road tax and registration. Do not worry! We will happily consult you on all the processes involved to register the car legal road use in the UK, although it is your responsibility to complete the legal processes in the UK with our guidance. |

Option 1 consists of Advice on availability, complete information about vehicle(s) of interest, explaining the auction sheets and reports and the procedures involved. We will arrange for shipping of the car to the UK (or as stated) and consult on its clearance on arrival. Any vehicle approval (SVA) can be carried out on your behalf by trusted third parties - details will be provided and we will advise as to the best and cheapest methods for swift registration. Our fee of £375 + VAT is payable pre-shipment - after which cars(s) will be in customers name.

Option 2:
This option is available only for cars 10 years old or more (Car Sourcing Service fee £550+VAT)
This option is suitable for most private customers where all processes are completed by Osaka Speed. Up to the delivery of your car to an UK port, everything is exactly same as option 1. We will then carry out all legal processes such as import tax & VAT clearance, Port tax, MOT, MOT preparation, road tax, registration and number plating. If your car requires extra parts and labour we will advise you of exactly what needs changing in order to pass the MOT. Parts and labour are charged very competitively due to our extensive network of new/used parts specialists and quality mechanics. In the unlikely event that your car does need parts and labour to pass the MOT or you require after market performance parts, payment is requested prior to collection. The current rates for the services list above can be seen in our terms and conditions available on request or when you chose your car. Please view the "Typical Car Sourcing Service Process" for the time scale of the payments we require.
We will provide you the best possible service in Japan and UK, so you can sit back and await our call for collection of your car. (Home delivery with additional transportation costs).
*MOT & MOT preparation is approximately £250 (including full MPH converter, de-restrictor, complete fog light kit) If any further work is required to pass MOT we will require additional costs to cover this prior to collection Continued Import tax is 10% of total cost of the car in Japan. VAT is 17.5% of total cost car + import tax. Port tax is usually £50.
Option 3:
This option is available only for cars under 10 years old (Car Sourcing Service fee £550+VAT)
Option 3 is for cars that fall into ESVA ( Enhanced Single Vehicle Approval) test bracket. The ESVA is a regulation applicable to cars manufactured after the 1st January 1997. For more details, please see www.vosa.gov.uk. Option 3 is essentially the same as option 2 apart from the ESVA test which requires a model report (approximately £250 depending on the car in question)

*Full On Board (FOB) charge includes the following: Single inland transport fee (From the auction hall to the nearest port OR From our office in Osaka, to the nearest port) Documentation fee (Invoices, Packing list, De-registration, Official stamp from Japanese chamber of commerce, Certificate of Origin) Japanese Custom Fee (Forwarding fee, Loading fee, Japanese custom clearance fee for either roll on -roll off ship or Liner vessel), And Freight insurance. Basically all expenses in Japan except freight.
*Freight depends on the size of the car.
For example, Mazda RX-7 = £450, Toyota Soarer = £510
